Pure Love

It’s sweet like the nectar
of the garden flower,
its soothing like the buzzing
of a bumble bee,
its warm like the rays
of the morning sun,
its the search of a love so pure
which keeps me on the run.

its the pulse in my vein,
the thoughts in my brain,
in every breath that I take,
the smile my lips make,
its in the twinkle of my eye,
till the day I die.

its the dream in my sleep,
its springs freshest leaf;
a love so rare like this
will always be with me for keeps.

its the warmth of my blood,
as my feelings flood,
as says my heart’s beat,
its depth touches the ocean’s feet.

even if its heart searing pain,
with nothing to gain,
I will feel it as the tear on my cheek,
and without words my soul will speak.

a feeling so sincere,
A heart for two to steer
a bond so strong,
I know my soul will never guide me wrong

My friend

You’re the thought that starts each morning,
the conclusion to each day.
I envision you in all that I do,
and everything I say.

You’re the smile on my face,
the sparkle in my eye.
the warmth inside my heart,
the fullness in my life.

The only hand that’s laced to mine,
the coat upon my back.
My friend and love you have my heart,
I will never turn back.

You’re the dimple in my cheek,
the constant tingle in my soul.
the voice that makes me weak,
You’re the one who shields the cold.

You’re all I’ve wanted,
all that I need.
You’re all I dream of,
You mean so much to me.

Words to a friend

Words can either make you
Or break you
It can also tame you
Or lame you

Friends can lift you up
Or mess you up
Sometimes brace you up
Other times, wreck you up

You are one in a million
So much more than a billion
With friends like you am rich over a trillion
Thank God you are my companion

Thank You Teresa Hall
Today, I realise I can stand tall
Knowing I could always call
A friend like you, is one equal to all

My Colour is Black

Equality is the nature of human
Animals, from time, are incomparable with man
Their creation is colour insensitive
Ours is overly sensitive

My identity just yesterday
By many assumptions fade away
The skin I wear
Most cases takes me nowhere

Life’s were lost on this course
Yet, a topic many shy to discuss
Would I be treated better with a different skin?
Confused, as my thoughts grow thin

Why should what I am ruin who I am?
Indeed, what I am is who I am
Gifted by nature, my skin, black and beautiful
Proud of my colour because its wonderful.

Circumstances of our birth differs
Whenever death calls, no one prefers
Heaven is colour insensitive to all
Only our deeds can make us stand tall

God created us all equally
Man recreates himself totally
Reflecting superiority
Imposed on perceived inferiority

Stop racism and discrimination
Let’s unite and live as one nation
God bless our race and existence
Show some love and bridge the distance
